Our Story

Picture it. It is March 2020, and life as we knew it, had ended. Life became filled with so much uncertainty and chaos. In an attempt to find comfort and peace during those times, we started a small garden. With help from Emily’s dad and some close friends, we were able to do very well, and fell in love with the entire process.

As we continued to make our way through the twists and turns life was giving us, a friend and Emily decided to try and make jam/jelly, in hopes they did an awesome job, for some thoughtful and affordable holiday gifts. After Emily spoke with her dad about this, she was reminded that he in fact, still had all of her Grandma Burks old canning equipment. Then Emily started having flashbacks.

Flashbacks to weekend at her family’s summer cottage in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. She was 15 years old and for the first time, she was canning tomatoes and peppers with her Grandma Burk and Aunt Sue. Emily kept thinking to herself, “This is such a pain, so much work and I could be doing so much more with friends back home.” Nevertheless, she paid attention and learned a lot over the next few summers.

Fast forward fifteen years later, and Emily now had picked up her Grandma’s canning equipment. Our first few attempts at canning jam and jelly were quite a learning experience, however, it did not take long to notice how much Emily loved being home and making delicious products that make people feel good!

After months of our friends suggesting names and flavors, we decided to focus our extra time into perfecting Emily’s recipes and ideas. Ultimately, we have come up with some amazing flavors for you to try, and decided on our name, thanks to our dear friend Tonishea. We will continue to experiment and bring you nothing but the best, small batches of jam, jelly and marmalades.

It brings both of us so much joy to come full circle, a year later, and be able to bring these goods to your kitchen table! We are extremely thankful for Emily’s grandmother, who has passed on these old school family traditions. Emily is still using some of her Grandmother’s equipment and continues to use her old-school, homemade recipes. Also, as crazy as it sounds, in a way, we are also extremely grateful for the time we were given the past year during Covid. If it was not for this pandemic, working from home, and idle hands, we would not have found a true passion and started our own business.

All our love,

The Codys (Brandon & Emily)
